After COP30, one message stands out: climate action starts locally. In Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific, everyday minerals like sand, clay, limestone and aggregates build stronger communities. Supporting small-scale miners means investing in sustainable, low-carbon pathways.

Today is #HumanRightsDay. At the Development Minerals Programme, we believe every miner deserves safety, fair pay, and respect. Supporting artisanal and small-scale miners means putting people and dignity at the centre of sustainable development.
