@nerdydollgirl@SmartdollLand When it's in route, you can update to get it directed to a local parcel pickup point. That's what I do when I'm not working from home.
Hey Folks,
Quick heads-up - we’ve added another line to the checkout questionnaire (we know it’s getting.... long).
If folks choose to waive the signature requirement for delivery, please be aware this increases the risk of loss or theft. Once a package is marked as delivered, we’re not able to cover any loss or offer a refund or replacement.
We’ve had a number of cases where signatures were waived and packages went missing, with requests for us to cover the cost. Unfortunately, that’s not something we’re able to sustain.
This policy has been in place since April 3, but we’re surfacing it more clearly at checkout for transparency.

Thanks for your understanding 🙇♂️

@SmartdollLand Is there a chance you might release Qingyi in other colours or is she going to be White only? With the limited amount and how fast I expect she's going to go, I don't like my chances of getting her.
Medium Bust Option Part (White) awakens - this will be the last batch for a while as we don't have any more white sofubi supply.

We do have one more batch of bodies for Qingyi, but she will be after Golden Week sometime.
#smartdoll
@SmartdollLand I really want Qingyi and I've been panicking about getting her. It's good to know she's gonna be after Golden Week. Hope you guys have a great break!
A bit of a boobs-up - the XL busts on the Pear bodies are so generous that we’ve had to add fruit caps to prevent the painted details from rubbing against the inside of the bag.

@SmartdollLand I will definitely be getting that sculpt one day! For now though… must save up for other dolls that take priority… 1. Classic Chitose! 2. More white dollies 💕
For Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month, I wanted to share how we’re continuing to approach representation.
We can now create custom 3D-modeled limbs that more closely reflect an individual’s lived experience. When one of our existing options isn’t suitable, customers can share reference photos and we’ll model and print a limb specifically for them.
Up until now, our options have been limited to an upper-arm (above-elbow) limb difference mold, prosthetic parts, and in some cases, custom builds by leaving limb sockets untrimmed. While this allowed for some flexibility, it was never an ideal or truly representative solution.
These custom limbs are made possible through our collaboration with Resione, who are developing resin materials matched to Smart Doll skin tones - helping us achieve not just the right form, but also a closer match in color and surface finish.
Because each piece is modeled individually, custom builds may take a little longer. For those who need it, the modeling and printing will be included as part of the Smart Doll at no extra cost.
Just like the Smart Doll Wheelchair 3D files we released for free on our website, we’ll also be releasing these limb designs so folks can customize them, or resize and adapt them for other brands. This is something we feel should be available to the wider community.
In these photos, you’ll see some of the examples we’ve created so far, including a shoulder-level limb difference and an above-knee limb difference.
More info and a video on the site.

@SmartdollLand I'm curious to know the planned white line up as I'm only going to be able to afford one :( I love Divergence and I missed Legion but I think semi real Transcendence, Imagine or Bittersweet would be the go for me.
@dollfiemew@SmartdollLand They had a lot of issues with the paint on the white so it took them a while to figure out what worked, looks like blue was the most successful. Grey ended up looking brown at one point, there's old posts about it
Many folks have been asking me, so just a quick update.
There was an earthquake earlier today, reported at magnitude 7.5, with the epicenter off the east coast of Japan. It shook quite a bit here in Tokyo, but things seem to be settling and are back to normal for now.
Will share more if anything changes.

Heads up folks - not so great news..
Shipping costs have gone up due to fuel surcharges (~47% from DHL).
We’ve limited our increase to ~25% and absorbed the rest.
We know this isn’t ideal - if you’d rather wait, we completely understand.

These changes are effective immediately :-(

@SmartdollLand I’d still sell those for a lower cost so it’s still used and not tossed out. People have imperfections themselves so dolls can too 😊 I love your work and the way you run things!
Hey folks!
Before choosing a Porcelain White Smart Doll, please take a moment to review the notes in the Knowledge Base. Our goal is to ensure clarity upfront so there are no surprises later :-)

This photo shows how much white sofubi is rejected even in a small batch. Lighter skin tones have a higher rejection rate due to increased visibility of imperfections.

@Here4Smrtdolls@SmartdollLand@dannychoo He answered this in the linked article. Recycling the material weakens it which means it's less likely to hold up to the standard of posing and wear expected from smart dolls.
@SmartdollLand@dannychoo, I have a question for you: When your team is cutting the excess material from the doll parts, what happens to it? Can it be melted down and mixed with new material for casting? Or do you already do that?
Hey folks!
Quick heads up on some changes you may start noticing with Smart Doll - and why they’re happening.
The situation in the Middle East is disrupting the global supply of oil and oil-derived materials. That includes vinyl (sofubi), plastics for frames and Cortex parts, and even the thinners and paints we use.
Some suppliers are now limiting orders, others have raised prices (20–40%), and we’ve been told raw plastic supply is uncertain going forward. Even when materials are available, soft-grade sofubi may not be.
A big factor is disruption around the Strait of Hormuz, which a large portion of the world’s oil passes through. When that’s affected, it ripples across everything.
We do have material reserves, but they won’t last indefinitely - so we’re making changes now to stay sustainable rather than waiting until it’s too late.
Key changes:
Focusing on core skin tones (Coffee, Tea, Cinnamon)
Prioritizing the Classic body
Adjusting Pear body pricing to keep it in production
Pausing new soft-grade option parts (using existing stock instead)
Head cap colors may vary
Moving toward a universal spine color (orange)
We’re not winding down - we’re adapting so we can keep going.
It does feel a bit post-apocalyptic at times - albeit one where we’re still making dolls that some might consider non-essential. And while they’re not edible, they’re still important to many of us :-)
