If Iran actually follows through on threatening to hit educational institutions, it crosses a line from military escalation into explicitly targeting civilians and students not combatants which almost everyone agrees is beyond acceptable wartime conduct. (Threatening universities is already being framed that way by many analysts online.)  That means this isn’t just geopolitics anymore, it’s a test of how far a state will push retaliation before global outrage forces limits.
