@FreyaHolmer weird! js aside, what I've seen from non-hyphenated custom tag support seems really good. No browser I've tested has any trouble styling them when they're present, for example.

what if I *don't* put a hyphen in custom html tags? I know it's recommended to distinguish custom html tags from built-in ones, but what are the pitfalls? (apart from backwards compat issues in case they decide to add a new html tag with the same name)

@valeriehalla It's complicated. People think in 2d, so x and y should ideally be whatever the user's logical space "reduces" to. For games with a big flat map that's n/s and e/w. For extremely vertical games that's left-right and up-down. By that logic, most games Z should be up/down.

I constantly feel under-served with metroidvanias that aren't roguelites or soulslikes, I'm getting by on Prince of Persia side-games and the like. So I want you to know, I know how you feel. I'm sorry that we're like this as an industry.

@voxelbased yeah, but I always have to do that mental translation from (what I would consider to be) spatial names of "x and y" into "input and value" before I can intuit which one I should use

figuring out why derivatives are dy/dx and not dx/dy in graphs took me a while x and y feels like (and are often shown as) interchangeable spatial dimensions, which is more confusing to me than using terms like deltaValue/deltaTime

@itscalledtwitta @VGC_News AI touch-up work is a problem. Artists get paid less for what is in reality more work than if they'd just been asked for the art in the first place. You can argue that AI will get better and do less art crimes in the future, but it's not better right now. It's not a good deal now

These problems go all the way up to primes - look at Rhino Prime's fluted torso. The way it's articulated (or, in this case, not), the flutes bend when the torso swivels and it just looks messy, like we're bending a hard surface. Again, it's easier to vertex paint/rig it ugly

The sloped shoulders and neck make the neck look chunky and the shoulders weak. The little hip packs are downright dorky. And it's disappointing because imagine what it could be like if we gave that boi a waistline and cleaned up his shoulders, hips, and elbows

Looks like I'm going to die on this hill: Warframe designs are empirically bad. The anatomy is bad. the details are beige, AI-flavored nonsense. None of the asymmetry is doing anything interesting. The grotesque frames aren't really spooky or fun in a dark souls way.
