@SirBylHolte They can make it about racism and similar themes and get the audience that wants that, but will it be enough to carry the show? Or they can make it like the old x-files and appeal to the old audience and new audience that wants that. I don't think they can do both.

@SirBylHolte It isn't even broad appeal. It is appeal to the target audience. Who watched the original x-files and who do they want to watch the new one? If they make it about racism, etc, will they loose the target audience?

OPINION: Yes, we could use something to fill the shoes of "The X-Files". No, it shouldn’t be made to appeal to only 12% of the population. Remember what happened when Jordan Peele rebooted "The Twilight Zone" as “Black Twilight Zone"? Most episodes centered on black protagonists. It hammered themes like systemic racism, police brutality, racial profiling, identity, and cancel culture. It was basically "Get Out"-style social horror every week. Critics called it "ambitious." Audiences called it preachy and heavy-handed. Classic fans hated how it sacrificed fun twists for messaging. Like "Starfleet Academy" and many other racist shows, it lasted exactly two seasons (20 episodes) before it was cancelled. The series was REMOVED from Paramount+ in early 2023. A “Black X-Files” WILL suffer the exact same fate. Hollywood still hasn’t learned: broad appeal beats niche pandering every single time.

It's also the same "diminish the black hero" treatment Amazon Prime gave "Cross" and Apple gave "Paradise" protagonist Xavier Collins. Creasy's the hero, but he has no heroic attributes because the script made him weak, failed, mean, and cruel. The review closes with "But the actual plot and nature of the revenge are new." Maybe, but the rest of it sounds like the usual MISANDRY "Hollywood" has been spitting out for a decade. No thanx, I'll pass on this one.

I write novels, and the internet lets me sell them. If you make some art, and sell it on the internet, you can be a maker, too. And then you can lie on the grass in your garden and watch the clouds and think about art. But now comes the bad news. This shit is hard to do. You only think it's easy because you've never done it. That's why you think that big bad capitalism is holding you back from your dreamed-of life of leisure. Nah. What's really holding you back is that selling art is hard. People don't like taking chances on something new. They are careful about how they part with their hard-earned money, 'cause they had to work for it just like you did. So you don't know how . And you don't know if you can do it. And you're scared to try. You didn't get a job because the system forced you to. You got a job because you weren't willing to take the risk of betting on yourself. You wanted a guaranteed paycheck. But that means you have to make a deal with someone. You have to promise to show up on time and do the thing. That's why they have to pay you regardless of whether their customers buy or don't. So if you don't wanna have a job, great. Best time in history for that. You don't need to be of any particular sex, race, or culture. You don't need a title of nobility or a patent from the king. But you do need to leave the safety of your corporate job, and make something people actually want. So it's up to you. Do you have the talent to make a good product or service? Do you have the social skills to market it? Do you have the balls to try?

If you grow male brain neurones and female brain neurones on a plate, then subject them to injury via stretching, the female neurones "break" earlier and the male neurones recover quicker, because they activate a stronger and more efficient inflammatory response. Also, that was some big talk from Jennifer Lopez, who already had THREE divorces by then! 🤣🤣🤣 The defense for calling men under 33 useless was that men take time to gain financial stability through established careers. That’s fair enough, but would the media have defended a man (or a woman, for that matter) who stated that women after their late 20s/early 30s are useless because their fertility takes a massive nosedive after that? No way! 🤣
