In my opinion, Douglas Kaien is a very traumatized person whose perception of love and affection got twisted by the sexual abuse he experienced since a very early age and I'm writing him in my fanfic as such. He is a guy with lots of issues he needs to work on.

Added a little headcanon of mine into the newest chapter of the fanfic (Chrome Ballanche trying to tranfuse Douglas Kaien's blood into himself to slow down his aging and experiencing the bad consequences which made him put his brain into a Fatima body)
