Nicki Aycox only had nude scenes in one movie of her career and no television series, but to compensate, that movie was almost wall-to-wall nudity. The film in question was 2009's Animals - a feature few people have heard of, but many have enjoyed. 🧵 Thread of all nude scenes.

Victoria Pedretti had her nude scene debut recently in Forbidden Fruits, and this seems to have flown under everyone's radars. A never-nude actress finally getting naked on screen should be a call for both celebration and encouragement. The muted reception is dangerous to the cause. Jodie Comer had the same awkward silence from the audience when she finally did a topless scene in The End We Start From (2023) and then never did a nude scene again. This bad ending should be avoided at all costs.

Esmé Bianco in her first scene in Game of Thrones as the prostitute Ros, a character not in the books, but a very welcome addition to the show. I haven't done an actual count of this, but of the named characters, she might have the highest per capita of nude scenes to total screen time. Season 1 was just generous like that, back when HBO was less averse to nudity.

Sydney Sweeney as Cassie Howard in yet another nude scene in the latest episode of Euphoria. I say without a hint of irony that I will never get bored of Sydney getting naked on screen. More than that, she's almost single-handedly keeping nudity in film and TV alive both as an actress and as a producer. Sydney Sweeney will go down in history as a shining beacon of light in this dark era of Hollywood. Thank you, Sydney. We salute you. 🫡

Charlotte Best is the best Best. Perfect casting for someone who is meant to be half siren. Also refreshing that one of the best pairs of boobs in a nude scene is from a Netflix show. Tidelands, before anyone asks.

Daisy Edgar-Jones was impossibly hot in Normal People. I don't know how Paul Mescal managed to stay focused during scenes like this.

Jessica Paré wasn't a main character in Hot Tub Time Machine, but she's the only character I remember and this is the only scene I remember, which is saying quite a lot for a movie about time travel. Who knew that big, bouncing, soapy, wet boobs would make for a memorable scene? (I did. As did most Hollywood producers before about a decade ago. We need to go back. The experiment has gone on long enough. No likes most of the slop rolling off the assembly lines these days. It doesn't have to be this way.)

I'm a bit surprised that Katherine Waterston got the lead (sort of) role as Tina Goldstein in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and the rest of those movies given her history with graphic and gratuitous full frontal nudity. It seems incongruent with the Harry Potter franchise, but then I suppose this is the same one that cast Helena Bonham Carter quite prominently, and she's not exactly peak wholesome. HBO has an opportunity to do something really funny with all of this. I doubt they're going to, but they could.

Genesis Rodriguez played Captain Josephina Carrillo in the second season of Lioness on Paramount+. It's this scene below that marks the first time the show actually had a topless scene rather than only rear nudity. Taylor Sheridan isn't necessarily a stranger to nude scenes, so I'm not sure why it took this long to get to this point, but late is better than never, even if it did take a full season and some change. Here's to hoping they keep the momentum going.
