On May 7, 2025, the World Alpagut Federation (WAF) delegation took part in a high-level sports event in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, at the invitation of the country’s Minister of Sports and International Kurash Association Vice President, Mr. Adkham Ikramov. Following the event, the delegation held a warm and constructive meeting with Mr. Pulat Usmanov, the founder of Uzbekistan’s national martial discipline “Milliy Jang San’ati” (National Martial Art). On May 6, 2025, the World Alpagut Federation (WAF) delegation was officially received by the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Adkham Ikramov, in Tashkent. Representing WAF at the meeting were: • Mr. Farid Alizade, Honorary President and Member of the Board • Mr. Vasif Namazov, Chairman of the Board • Mr. Tural Abasquliyev, Vice President for Development and Research • Ms. Alfiya Kalmaganbetova, WAF’s Authorized Representative for Asia Discussions focused on the establishment of a National Alpagut Federation in Uzbekistan and the creation of a regional Alpagut structure in Asia. Both sides emphasized cooperation in promoting traditional martial arts rooted in Turkic heritage. As a gesture of appreciation, the WAF delegation presented a traditional Alpagut Chapan to Minister Ikramov. The President of the @WorldAlpagutFed (WAF), Jala Ahmadova, member of the WAF Board of Directors, @FaridAlizade, President of the Azerbaijan Alpagut Federation (AAF), Fuad Guliyev, and AAF Vice President, Mehman Safarov, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee of the National Assembly, Shahin Ismayilov, and the Deputy Chair of the Committee, @KNurullayeva.

The Turkic Culture & Heritage Foundation and World Alpagut Federation signed a historic agreement in Baku. @aktotyraiymkul, @KNurullayeva, @VasifNamazov, and @faridalizade emphasized collaboration to preserve Turkic heritage and promote Alpagut as a cultural symbol worldwide.

The Azerbaijani representative of the World Alpagut Federation has held its congress. During the congress, a new composition of the Board of the Azerbaijan Alpagut Federation (AAF) was formed, and elections were held for the federation's president. Based on the voting, which included all branch and club leaders, coaches, referees, and athletes over the age of 18, the members of the board were elected. Subsequently, as a result of the voting of the General Assembly, Fuad Guliyev was unanimously elected as the new president of the Azerbaijan Alpagut Federation. The congress was attended as guests by Tural Abasguliyev, Vice President of the World Alpagut Federation, Firuza Isgandarova, head of the advertising and marketing department, Farid Alizade, a board member, and Jala Ahmadova, MP of Azerbaijan Republic and president of WAF. It should be noted that the World Alpagut Federation is an international organization founded in 2014 with the aim of developing the national sport of alpagut. The federation has official representations, clubs, and federations in 57 countries, including Azerbaijan. The federation is a member of recognized serious international sports associations such as IMGC, Fair-Play, ICSSPE, ISNO, GAWSF, and TAFISA. The World Alpagut Federation has been published in the Yearbook of International Organizations, published by the Union of International Associations, and registered with the International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI) organization.

It was a great pleasure meeting Mr. Patrik Perosa and Mr. @marcotomasini87 from TAFISA in Baku. We had a highly productive time, conducting an outstanding press conference to share our experiences with the local and worldwide media. Additionally, securing membership from the International Sports Network Organization (ISNO) through Mr. Marco Tomasini was a significant and extra success for us.

It was a fantastic experience representing @WorldAlpagutFed at the 28th @TafisaOffice World Congress Düsseldorf (#Germany) 2023. Building new connections and friendships with people from around the world was truly enriching. #Azerbaijan made its inaugural appearance at the TAFISA Congress, and I'm delighted to have represented my hometown at this significant event.
