By scrapping the SFI, I am interested to know what legal liability the current government now has under the Environment Act 2021. Surely their actions will ensure the halt to biodiversity decline by 2030 is guaranteed to be missed?

@TrooperSnooks I would guess that most won’t be able to afford the legal fees to fight it or will loose a chunk of their farm to fund it at the very least. They also seem able find money from the black hole when it suits them. I hope you’re right though.

@farmerdrum1 Will it be though Dominic? The DEFRA budget will disappear in legal fees defending cases lodged by landowners who have had their land seized. This may be a Zimbabwe style land grab, but we still have a functioning judiciary.

The inheritance tax on farmers will raise 22 and a half hours of NHS spending. This is apparently enough to bring waiting lists down, bring mortgages down, and make the economy work for everyone.

@BigEdBanthorp Strange how they can row back on getting rid of the tax breaks for non dom’s but nhs waiting times hinge on raising a few hours worth of funding from IHT on farmland and businesses.
