Fired my plumber—he buried bare copper pipe straight in the dirt, no sleeve/wrap. Claimed it’s “standard practice.” I asked for protection from acidic soil. He called me a Karen, demanded $4k anyway, now threatens to sue. Who’s wrong? Plumbers, is bare copper OK underground? AITA?

I wasn’t thinking because I saw no warnings or other information to that effect. I asked a friend who worked for Mueller. He explained the electrolysis effect of brass in contact with ground water. I only have about four underground. As they fail I replace and wrap them properly. Let me ask, if you had to bypass an exterior slab with buried pipe, what would you have used when everything under the crawl space was Pex?

@org_grumpyolman @GigaBeers PEX brass fittings will definitely fail unless wrapped. I made that mistake myself around my own home. Digging up and replacing a Sharks Bite fitting almost every year.

@GigaBeers HDPE or PEX is what he should have used based on your request. You'll get maybe 20 years if he used K grade copper. If...

They were trying to get a clear field of fire. Did you see the agent in the middle of the video keep swinging left? He was almost certainly trying to get a shot at the bad guy without killing an innocent. Incredibly quick response by the good guys. No Monday morning quarterbacking about training. Also it’s better to get him alive and learn who he was working with and his true motives.

Admit? Thats my whole point. Iran radical clerics, not the Iranian people, want to destroy the US. Their having a nuke and a means to deliver it would make it that much more difficult to contain them without causing a nuclear holocaust. We want the people of Iraq, with whom we once had a good mutual relationship, to live in peace with us and enjoy productive trade with us, not threaten to destroy us as the clerics do.
