“Stop the Genocide in Gaza!” Naoya Chikahiro, Yusuke Furusawa English Edition -- Out Now On Kindle This English-language e-book, “Stop the Genocide in Gaza!”, is a collection of conversations between Naoya Chikahiro and another Japanese protester, Yusuke Furusawa. It is a spin-off selection from “A Job Called Dougenbouz”, intended for international readers. Since February 2024, Chikahiro has been using his days off to stage solo protests in front of the Israeli Embassy in Tokyo’s Kojimachi district. He carries no placard–only a checkered keffiyeh scarf around his neck–and stands face to face with the heavily guarded police shouting, “Stop genocide!” again and again. Videos of his protests posted on Instagram quickly went viral, particularly across Arabic-speaking countries—some viewed over ten million times. His ramen shop has since become a kind of destination for international protesters visiting Tokyo. Since October 2023, actor Yusuke Furusawa has been standing alone for one hour each day somewhere in Tokyo, protesting Israel’s invasion and slaughter in Palestine. His videos, shared on Instagram, have drawn more than 200,000 followers—mostly from outside Japan. A foreign film crew is currently producing a documentary focusing on his activism. “Even if our voices don’t reach anyone, we must still say it—we must keep saying it. Adults have to stand up and say, loud and clear, like fools, ‘No to war.’” Their conversations, recorded in June 2024 and May 2025, explore why and how these two men decided to protest—and what drives them to continue. Their message, which has resonated deeply with protesters abroad, offers inspiration to anyone seeking their own way of expressing conviction and civic responsibility in society.
