From my interactions with the Police Constable who interviewed me, I have no doubt he was simply following orders from above, orders he did not agree with. I intend to find out who gave that order and hold them to account under the law. No-one is above the law, and that includes senior police officers and or politicians. So I was at a cafe in central London today and at a table right behind me were 3 Iranian women. I could hear them conversing in Farsi. Somehow we got up to leave at the same time, and they asked me if I was from Iran. I told them that I was from Pakistan. One said, “Pakistani people are so nice.” I asked them if everything was ok with their families in Iran, and they said, no - the bombing is incessant. We all cursed Netanyahu together and I told them Iran was putting up an impressive fight. They said they were proud of their country. It was a touching moment of solidarity among complete strangers. Specially since at first I thought they may be part of the Pahlavi diaspora. But they were actually genuine Iranians abroad, concerned for their country and family.
