🚨| Mercedes, Shovlin: “We started the season well, but the others are getting closer”: — Andrew Shovlin reflected on the challenges faced by George Russell during the Suzuka GP and outlined Mercedes' plans for improvement during the break. Speaking to media, Shovlin remarked: “If we had stopped George a lap later, he would have kept his head of the race at the restart.” — Shovlin explained the sequence of events that led to Russell's difficulties, including a software issue that impacted his performance: “Instead, he slipped into P3 and lost another position to Lewis because he reached the energy recovery limit too early in the lap and didn't have enough battery for the restart. Then he was faced with another frustrating problem: a bug in the software code, triggered by the simultaneous pressing of a button and the gear change, caused the power unit to go into super clipping and charge the battery, thus allowing Charles to switch.” — Shovlin acknowledged the need for Mercedes to address these issues and emphasized the team's commitment to improvement: “Clearly, there are a lot of things we need to work on and that we need to understand in the coming weeks. We started the season off great, but our opponents are getting closer.” “Fortunately, we have a lot of room for improvement and we will make the most of the break to improve in the sectors where we are less strong.” #georgerussell 🇬🇧 #mercedesamgf1 🇩🇪 #f12026 VIA: [formulapassion]

🗣️ | Kimi Antonelli: "I have what it takes to be world champion My ultimate goal is to be in contention for the title at the end of the season and then win it. Last year Lewis and Max were very open and helped me. But now they've stopped. My victory showed that I can beat anyone if I perform to my potential. But to do that, I need to get the basics right." @MercedesAMGF1 your PR is so bad that even posts like these aren't hitting: antonelli himself said he's gonna focus on himself only from now on, what "team" are we talking about rn

My hot take is that Toto pushed the contract talks so hard with VSTP last year to take heat off of Kimi's 3 points in all of europe disasterclass. Because what do you mean yall were driving the same car but he's out of points while GR is on podiums

Toto knows ANT is liable to crash and burn like he did last year and lose the WCC to Ferarri and steps in with resources. Just didn't think he'd be so stupid as to think his current form is his own doing???

🚨| Russell dismisses Antonelli momentum shift after Japanese GP setback: — George Russell dismissed concerns about a momentum shift towards his teammate Kimi Antonelli in the World Championship fight. Despite Antonelli taking the lead after winning his second consecutive Grand Prix at the Japanese GP, Russell remained unfazed. Speaking to media, Russell remarked: “No, not at all.” “It's three races down out of 22, and one different lap today, and the victory would have been on my side, and I'm confident of that.” — Reflecting on his performance in China, Russell noted his potential to have secured a better result if not for technical issues. He stated: “In China, I was three-tenths ahead in sprint qualifying, so without that issue, maybe I could have been on pole there and won that race.” — Russell expressed his view on the current standings and the upcoming break in the racing calendar. He commented: “It's just how it turns out. It's that race, and now it's a four-week break, so there's no momentum to be carried. Then, we reset and go again for the next race.” “It just feels like, at the moment, these last two weekends, every issue we've had has been on my side, and we're just going through that pain.” — The standings after the Japanese Grand Prix show Kimi Antonelli leading with 72 points, followed by George Russell with 63 points. The cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix due to tensions in the Middle East has resulted in a four-week break before the Miami Grand Prix, where Russell hopes to regain his momentum. #kimiantonelli 🇮🇹 #georgerussell 🇬🇧 VIA: [gpblog]

Verstappen at Antonelli's age/stage had every team knocking on his door. And here's Kimi saying VSTP doens't help him anymore like bsfr does any team want this kid. Would Ferarri pick him over Bearman, let alone HAM/LEC???

Like GR stronger than me and that's why he's #mygoat. If I had to listen to him glaze VSTP for a year and then give this BS interview I'd have personally gotten out of my car in AUS quali Q1 and dragged my mechanics back by hand

Antonelli too stupid to see that his dad and Toto were helping him "stumble" into wins and would rather be taken seriously (he's an adult btw not a toddler). I say great GR it's high time you take the gloves off if I hear about you helping him again you're the stupid one

Info George Russell 🇧🇷
📰 | @adamcooperF1
