I entered the remote work space with Yahoo guys' resilience. Have you seen how these guys work? Up at night. Sending over 100 emails just to get the attention of one person. And if they don't get a response, they send again. Relentless follow-through. When life got tough for me in 2023, I knew something was wrong somewhere. I sat myself down one day and asked some deep questions. Where was I missing it? What wasn't I doing? The answer was uncomfortable. Very. I was getting one rejection email and waiting 2 to 3 weeks before I found the courage to apply again. Sometimes I would apply to just one job. One. And then wait like that one job owed me something. If Yahoo guys can go that length for something that is not even legitimate - how was I not doing that much for something real? Something verrrrrrrry LEGIT! So I changed. Any week I decided I was applying, I went all out. Not 10 applications and call it a day. I did my research, applied, then applied some more. I woke up at night to submit applications. I woke up early in the morning to catch the fresh posts. I tested different scripts and doubled down on the ones that got responses. I recently saw someone share that between December and now she had applied to over 500 jobs across different platforms and landed a 6-month contract paying $1,800 a month. That is the kind of resilience this market does not talk about enough. You can't even buy it in the market either. So when someone posts a screenshot of a job offer, stop just celebrating - I mean , don't just stop there. Ask real questions. How long did it take? How many rejections came before that? How many interviews that ghosted? How many bad HR experiences? How many times did they almost quit? Those are the questions that actually help you grow. The success is real. Remote work is real. Verrrrrrrry real. But so is everything that came before it. YOU MUST DO THE EXTRA WORK!
