Honestly my issue isn’t the kids not knowing the words it’s their inability to phonetically sound it out and attempt to say it. Reality is some words are going to be uncommon to certain people but the inability to use phonics is disheartening. Bring Hooked on Phonics back!
Teacher says there's no longer a difference between special education & general education. He says every teacher is special ed now, what with all the IEPs and 504s. My 2¢: the overly inclusive model is unfair to everyone involved!
