Maybe, maybe not. There is no guarantee though that Miami would have beaten Oklahoma like most of their fans keep thinking. Hell, FWIW that game most likely would have or could have mirrored the Miami-Indiana CFP NCG in January. Similar to Indiana this past season, Oklahoma was built the same way in 2000. Looked great offensively but were so sound defensively. Well coached as well. Crazy as this sounds, Indiana of 2025 was basically Oklahoma 2000 reincarnated.

No, Oklahoma was much better than everyone gave them credit for that year. They mauled FSU in the trenches and not having Snoop Minnis hurt after he failed to maintain his grades. But FSU got whipped in the trenches and also Mark Richt was halfway out the door to UGA and never drew up a game plan.

Hate to say this, we sure as hell played like we didn't belong in that game. Florida State got their ass dragged up and down that field. Looked pedestrian and made a case that they should have been left out of that game. Worse, I spent over a grand that year to see that game in tickets, gas, food, etc.
