@zenku28 @izmy007 @DiamondQuartz95 So, the fire in hongkong was about 21km away from the stadium during mama. Gwanghwamun is about 150km away from Daedeok-gu, where the fire happened. Last I was aware, 150 > 21.

Such a selfish ass group , during Hongkong fires , so many groups and artists changed their setlists , lyrics , props and choreos to not hurt the sentiments of the victims and then we have these fuckers :

현명하신 아부지.. 🇰🇷GP posted on Threads While watching a BTS concert, I complained, "They call themselves 🇰🇷K-pop singers, but there isn’t a single word of 🇰🇷Korean in their lyrics." My dad just chuckled and said, "Well, ABBA doesn't have a lick of 🇸🇪Swedish in 'Dancing Queen,' yet everyone still calls it 🇸🇪Swedish Pop, don't they?" 😁👍👏💜 #BTS_ARIRANG

BTS's sound and style is whatever BTS releases. They've never stuck to one genre and expecting them to is just projecting your own imagination of what bts is onto them.

@maekussyhammer Cotton candy is also just spun sugar. Wiki suggests italy to have started it in the 15th century. Sugar snacks have existed since we first learnt to extract sugar from sugarcane 2500 years ago too.

@maekussyhammer Popcorn has existed for thousands of years. All you need to do is set up a fire, put dried corn in a vessel over the fire, and you get popcorn. We have evidence of popping corn all the way to 3600 BC (5000 years ago).

@BrianAtlas If the "1%" of males still managed to rape and kill and abuse when there was "99%" of men "protecting", doesn't it mean that these 99% of men were useless at protecting?

imagining caleb as your bodyguard, except he’s way too comfortable breaking protocol for you he’s supposed to stay professional, keep his distance, watch your back. but somehow his jacket always ends up around your shoulders when it’s cold, and he’s always just a little too close, hand hovering near your waist like he owns that space. one night you joke, “what, getting attached?” expecting a laugh. he doesn’t. his gaze pins you in place, dark and sharp, like he’s deciding exactly how far he’s willing to cross the line with you. “what if i already have?”

The placebo effect is CRAZY. There's a study from 2002 where 180 people with osteoarthritis were split into three groups. One got standard surgery, one group got saline splashed in there and sewn back up, and the third got a totally fake surgery where they were cut open and closed up without doing anything. The people who got the fake surgery had just as much relief in pain and mobility as the people who actually got the surgery. I actually think this kinda gets into expectancy theory and conditioned cellular response and it proves that your cells are a massive, decentralized network of biological sensors and you are a programmable organism

@TheWatchdogDBQ @zeynepmyenisey What do you propose that they change the experiment to? What should the interventions group be compared against, to know that the intervention was really successful, if not a placebo procedure?

@zeynepmyenisey Thanks! Count me STUNNED that this was allowed, noting that it was at a Veterans facility in 2002 (prob had more lax standards) I sincerely doubt they could get approval for a sham surgery study like this today But wow. I’m rather speechless this was allowed at all

@miiiraxoxo @thekonyjen Patients really do judge your surgical skill by how well you close the skin and not the fact that the surgery was successful, they're alive, and that they're not going to have a hernia. I understand cosmetics is important, I really do. Can we also appreciate that you're okay now?

@fayeth0613 @thekonyjen Also OBGYN don’t receive enough surgery training for that so their first goal is to make you stay alive first not really the cosmetic.

@thekonyjen I want to get them all pretty too, but I cant stand there obsessing over how it looks and redoing skin sutures because it increases pain, scarring and anaesthesia time. At some point I just have to say good enough and move on for the good of the patient, and try better next time

@thekonyjen Idk if you know but closures like this are so insanely hard to achieve and takes years and years and years of practice. Not every doctor can achieve it, especially not in your first hundred skin sutures.
