Those “angels” are Cole’s backing vocals lol This is something nobody talks about but it’s genius about Cole’s music. He adds to the instrumental by recording these backing vocals and then double tracking them really softly, and then adding harmonies an octave higher in falsetto. It’s so subtle but makes the song sound way fuller Pay close attention to the last verse on SAFETY for another great example of this
