🚨🗣️ Wayne Rooney on Manchester City vs Crystal Palace:
“We all saw the controversial moment in the Manchester City vs Crystal Palace game yesterday. For me, Crystal Palace should have had a clear penalty. If that same incident happened involving Arsenal, it would be all over the headlines with people saying VAR are favouring Arsenal, but because it happened against Manchester City, the conversation feels much quieter.
To be fair, VAR has to become more transparent and more consistent with these decisions. At this stage of the season, when the title race is so tight, small margins matter a lot. One decision can change the outcome of a match, and one match can change the direction of the entire league.
Fans just want fairness. They want consistency. If something is a penalty one week, then it should remain a penalty the next week as well. That’s the frustrating part for supporters, players, and managers.
Still, Arsenal have put themselves in a very strong position, and I’m glad they currently have the upper hand in the title race. They’ve worked hard all season, stayed consistent, and shown real character under pressure.
Manchester City will keep fighting because they always do, but Arsenal now have a massive opportunity in front of them. They just need to stay focused, handle the pressure, and finish the job because the Premier League title is within touching distance.”
