@recordtronic @jackie_mcgriff Captions. 🧘🏽 I'm going to be loose with terms, b/c there's captions, subtitles, open, closed, and various formats. You can "burn in" captions so that they're part of the image. Lots of folks do that in social media because it's eye-catching. That's probably not what you mean.

Filmmaker Twitter, can someone please explain to me how is it that we have captions burned into videos and yet every time we share our films on social media, they never show up?! 🤬

@ObserverSuns @manipulanda I stand corrected. I just undid years of conventional biology bias with some chemistry. O2 does bring most of the energy. But to get the energy out, you have to oxidize something. What’s normally thought of as “fuel” is as energy dense as its ability to free energy from O2.

@fcanas @manipulanda are you saying “no the situation is not symmetric” or “no, animals don’t get energy from oxygen”? if the latter, can the oxygen not be thought of as contributing some fraction of the energy released in the reaction?

@codeine_coding Experience seeing what kind of problems emerge from lots of uncoordinated teams working on the same codebase. Being comfortable with that chaos, and knowing when to step in to provide guidance.

@codeine_coding 1. Experience making tradeoffs with very large denominators: A 100x/day crash may not be urgent. Supporting old OSes for 5% of your users You can learn it. But someone in the room needs to keep it in mind at all times. If you're being brought in to lead, it may need to be you.

Out of curiosity, do y'all think there is some validity in iOS/Android job requirements mentioning "have worked on apps with large user base", or does it feel "gatekeepy"?
