The federation we set-up includes 7 guardians, only 1 of them lives inside the Bitcoin Ekasi project.
The rest are running on 6 @start9labs devices, one guardian each in a different town, spread accros the Western Cape province of South Africa.
The other guardians do not want to be named or identified.
We can't take full credit for setting this up, but, other than the @fedimint developers who are obviously the biggest heroes here, we can't mention who else deserves credit, except to say that we all know one another and are all within about a 500km radius from one another.
Our next federation may be a Ekasi specific federation, with all guardians inside our own community, depending on how the current federation grows.
But it's good practice to have some geographic distribution, to hedge against local power and Internet outages.
