@SandyofCthulhu A Toad in a Hole is pretty good too. Pretty much, England knows how to make good beef dishes. It's when we wander into things like Kidney Pie or sausages where it gets dicey. I'm German, so I love most sausages, but England's are suss.

I would never want to dis Arby's, and their point here is generally true. BUT if there is One Single Thing that England knows how to do, it's roast beef. Even England's naysayers must admit that.

If you're talking to a botanist then a tomato, a pumpkin, or a cucumber is a fruit. But 99.9% of the time we're concerned with culinary functions, in which case these are of course NOT a fruit. The word "vegetable" doesn't even have a meaning botanically. So when I say, "Let's add some veggies to this soup." and start to chop up butternut squash & tomatoes, anyone who starts pedantically saying "Well akshually" will find themselves chased out of the kitchen with a ladle. Because I am clearly not dealing with botany here.
