20 That girl had no clarity. She did not know what she wanted. She did not know what life had to offer. She was just existing. Moving through days without direction. Without purpose. Without a plan. Just existing. 21 Something shifted. She was done. Done with just living a normal life. Done with barely getting by. Done with not knowing who she was or what she was here for. For a girl who could not even string up a proper sentence. She started impacting lives through the Skill to Income Academy. For a girl who had to borrow money just to learn a skill. She started showing up for people. For a girl who once had no one to show up for her in that way. This is 24 And this is just the beginning. Dear Catherine. God has shown himself in your life in so many ways that you cannot even begin to count them. The scholarship you never applied for. The job that came through a referral when you were not even first on the list. The apartment that came to you when you were not even looking. In 5 years, you will wish you started at least one of these earlier: 1. Learn a high-income skill Pick one: design, tech, marketing, writing, or sales. Use YouTube, Coursera, or Udemy and give it 30–60 minutes daily. 2. Start that business idea Stop overthinking. Test it with WhatsApp Business or Instagram and sell to people around you first. 3. Create content Use your phone and start posting on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or X. Don’t wait to be perfect, just stay consistent. 4. Save money consistently Automate it with PiggyVest or Cowrywise. Even small amounts saved regularly compound over time. 5. Learn how investing works Start with beginner-friendly content on YouTube and explore apps like Cowrywise to get comfortable. 6. Build something for yourself Create a simple brand page. Use Canva, start posting, and put your ideas out there. 7. Network intentionally Be active on LinkedIn. Share what you’re learning, engage with people, and stay visible. 8. Take care of your health Walk more. Drink more water. Sleep better. A healthy body improves everything else. 9. Improve your confidence & communication Practice speaking. Record yourself. Put yourself in spaces where you’re forced to communicate. 10. Try, fail, and try again Nobody gets it perfect immediately. Start anyway and improve as you go. 5 tips I’d give a beginner starting out in AI and Automation: 1. Start Simple Before Going Advanced Don’t jump straight into complex workflows. Begin with one or two repetitive tasks you do daily, like sending email follow-ups or moving data between apps. Automate those first. It builds confidence fast. 2. Map Out the Process First Before touching any tool like Zapier, Make, or N8N, write out the steps of your workflow on paper, I use Miro. Clarity upfront saves you hours of fixing broken automations later. 3. Learn Basic Logic & Triggers Automation is 80% logic. Learn what triggers, actions, filters, and conditions mean. Understanding these will make any automation tool feel less intimidating. 4. Always Add Error Handling Things break. Apps change. Data fails. Add steps like notifications, error logs, or retries so you can fix issues quickly without the whole workflow collapsing. 5. Document everything. I keep a simple drive for my automation, this always comes in handy, when I want to build similar workflow for a client, Future you will always say thanks.
