One of Lindsay’s most endearing qualities was his genuine friendship with President Trump. He took the time to understand what mattered most to the President, then worked tirelessly to help make it happen. And he always did it with warmth, optimism, and a smile. It was a privilege to spend time with Lindsay, whether in the room or on the golf course with the President. He will be deeply missed.

Trump needs to go before Congress to urge the passing of the Save America Act in honor of Lindsey Graham. Lyndon Johnson invoked JFK during a joint session of Congress and used the opportunity to promote the Civil Rights Act in honor of his memory.

In November 2019, I ran into Senator Lindsey Graham in the Capitol Rotunda while I was giving a speech during a demonstration for clean water. Although we stood on opposite sides of the political spectrum at the time, he invited me into his office and made me a cup of coffee. He was a fierce advocate for conservative values, but he never lost his Southern gentility. His passing is a significant loss for the American people. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, staff, and the people of South Carolina.
