When I was shopping for cars this time, I came very close to buying an EV. What held me back was being concerned that the technology might change so dramatically in the next 2-3 years that I would be sitting on an expensive paperweight. Of course that made leasing more attractive. But also I'm temporarily living out here in the middle of nowhere in an older house with lousy electric. I couldn't install a home charger here without the place blowing up. Even running a trickle charger is risky. No public chargers within an hour. If I had modern wiring here, I think I definitely would have gone electric and just leased it for two or three years. I really like that Cadillac Lyriq. Beautiful car. Got an amazing deal on my BMW 740 - about the cost of a new Nissan Sentra. Eighty percent of the depreciation is gone with only 58,000 miles. Car is super clean and beautiful. It actually gets about 30 miles to a gallon highway, which isn't bad. This straight inline six is pretty good.
