Foundational Nupe Lawyer
I recently discovered that there’s a group of people in this country that if you take up their cases, their family members will contribute money or farm produce or cattle and give the community leaders to pay to the lawyers. But these community leaders often embezzle the money or convert these things to their personal pockets, especially if they find out that the lawyers took up the cases pro bono. Corruption everywhere.

When I was in 200l, my phone was stolen. I had the option of saving from my pocket money to buy a good phone but I rejected it. I used torchlight phone for a year. My friends who had less pocket money than me saved to buy good phone and wore new clothes. Blackberry was reigning so it made sense to want to jump on it. My priority was my food. I wasn't going to alter my feeding for phone. I went to the main market on weekend and did proper shopping to cook. Ironically, I was feeding the people using their money to buy phone and clothes. Buying phone meant they had to hold their stomach. My point is, everyone has what matters to them. Your money will go where your priority is.

@Row_Haastrup Most Nigerian Christian leaders preach this kind of message, and then preach another message that is totally opposite of this message leaving African Christians confused 😕. I am tired of seeing and hearing this message and the opposite message.

I bank with Zenith Bank. When I slot in my ATM card, the machine will welcome me and say “Arome, welcome”. The machine is dealing with me as a personalised customer. If I give my friend, Gideon Odoma my ATM to help me make some withdrawals, when he slots in the card, the machine will still say “Arome, welcome”, it won't recognise Gideon. It accepts the transaction because it takes for granted that it is Arome. When you give your life to Christ, the Christ that is in you is the one that has the passcode to the throne of Grace. So when you come before the throne of Grace, you're not admitted into activities or transactions with that throne because you're ‘Samuel’ or ‘Philip’ by name. Christ in you becomes the basis of your right standing with God, He doesn't see you, He sees Christ; just like the ATM machine didn't recognise my friend Gideon and thought it was dealing with Arome. So, Christ in you becomes the reason of your acceptance. Not you in yourself, but Christ in you. As long as you have Christ in you, when you stand before God, you're Right from the perspective of the Justice system of Heaven. It is this RIGHTNESS that gives you the platform for Prayer. It is this RIGHTNESS that makes you to be able to engage God without inferiority, guilt and condemnation. And the proof that this RIGHTNESS is in place is that there's an inner PEACE. PEACE means you're accepted. Peace means welcomed. Peace means you're free to do transactions in the courts of Heaven. ••• And that's an arrangement that was put in place not because you had anything to contribute to it. Salvation is not a reward for good behavior; it is a gift released by the grace of God. We access this grace by putting our faith in Jesus Christ. Because it is entirely God’s doing and not our achievement, no man has grounds to boast. Therefore, every believer must live in humility, knowing that redemption is purely the mercy of God. "Ikoyi" appears 14 times across Yorubaland From Lagos to Ekiti, Ogun to Kwara - the same town names repeat across every Yoruba state. This isn't coincidence. It's ancient migration patterns and dynastic bonds literally written into the geography. Our ancestors left breadcrumbs. We just have to read the map. 𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝟭𝟰 𝗜𝗞𝗢𝗬𝗜𝗦: 📍 Oyo - Oriire LG 📍 Osun - Isokan LG (3 locations!) 📍 Lagos - Eti-Osa LG 📍 Ekiti - Ikole & Ikere LGs 📍 Kogi - Ijumu LG 📍 Ondo - Ilaje LG & Odo-Ikoyi, Akure 📍 Ogun - Odeda/Owode & Ijemo-Ikoyi, Abeokuta 📍 Kwara - Ilorin West LG 📍 Osun - Ilesa West & Ayedire LGs This pattern repeats with dozens of other town names: Oke, Odo, Igbo, Ijemo... Each repetition marks where royal families settled, where traders established routes, where communities split and migrated. Yorubaland isn't just connected by language and culture. The geography itself is a living historical archive.

As someone whose team just faced Osimhen, I have to say playing against him is genuinely scary and frustrating. Our centre backs aren’t usually this bad, and we rarely struggle this much when defending crosses. But this guy is an absolute monster. Right now, I genuinely think he has the best box presence in world football. His movement is extremely intelligent, he knows exactly when and where to attack the space, and physically he is on another level. His strength makes it almost impossible to duel with him, his jumping ability is insane, and he always seems to be at the end of every single cross. With all due respect to Galatasaray, he’s seriously wasting his prime years in Turkey. He deserves a better team in a top league.

The level of ignorance and unprofessionalism being displayed by this account is disgraceful. What Kebbi state did was to loan this amount of money to Hajj commission and before April of next year that amount of money will be paid in full. It’s a business venture they invested into which will yield 1- profit 2- community appreciation and ease access to subscribe through installments.
StatiSense@StatiSense

In 2024, KEBBI STATE generated ₦16.97 billion in Internal Generated Revenue (IGR). In 2025, KEBBI STATE provides ₦10 billion intervention to support intending pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj. If Kebbi State were to fund the 2026 Hajj with its 2024 IGR, that would mean spending approximately 60% of its IGR on Hajj [intervention]. #Statisense

@gkbalogs The number of terrible agents in the Nigerian space is alarming. House, Car, Job, Visa.... Agents always want to make a huge amount of money without any form of capital. This is a serious issue that requires legislation for it to stop.

Nigeria is a crime scene. Property Agent brings an eviction notice signed by the landlord’s lawyer. We reach out to them to ask why. They say the landlord wants to use his building. We ask what the options are. They say we may need to pay more for him to change his mind. We ask how much. They give a figure 4x our current rent 🤣🤣. I said haba, that’s ridiculous. They say we should make an offer. We say okay, they should officially write to us demanding for increment. Na there wahala start. They said no, we should make the offer. After a few weeks, I searched, got landlord's number and called him and it happens he knew absolutely nothing about the entire drama. He was livid. They are currently explaining themselves to the landlord... let's see how this plays out.

@TheOnlyKemi As a principle, I won't start what I cannot continue in the long run. I would rather sponsor someone for a skill or education than dash them money over and over again. Giving money is not being nice it's creating a dependency and entitlement mentality in the receiver.

There is a lady like this in front of my estate. I dont buy from her because I mostly buy things in bulk, but I do give her money. I have lived in this estate for over a year now, and I have consistently dashed her money at least twice a week whenever I go for my evening strolls over the last year. And in the previous year, there was no day she didn't greet me when I passed. One day I decided to eat agege bread and thought of her cos she sells it, I got bread for 500 naira and gave her 1k, She took it and searched through her purse for change, she probably expected me to leave the change for her and when I didn't, she said she didn't have 500 naira change even though 500 naira was the first money I saw when she opened her purse. I took off and thought I didn't see clearly. Not long after that I returned to buy bread again and she did the same thing, I was pissed off, should I call this greed or entitlement? This is someone that the least I have given her is 1k and the highest 3k twice a week for over a year. And you still feel so entitled? You couldn't even say take a bread for free or dash me something smaller not like I was expectingher to tho but then I wasn't expectingher to be this greedy, I immediately told her I could see 500 naira change, she should check again and she did then she said “Oh, I didn't see it” She gave me the money, I took it and she looked at up with so much disbelief, well guess what? This woman hasn't greeted me ever since 😂

What happened in that village is not just wickedness. It is treachery of the highest order. Any indigene who can see an escaped victim and still rush to alert bandits is not a civilian. That person is a full-fledged criminal masquerading as a villager. Let us say it plainly. These so-called villagers are the oxygen keeping kidnapping alive. They sit by the roadside pretending to be harmless, yet they are the eyes and ears of terrorists. People like this are worse than the bandits they serve. At least bandits do not pretend to be innocent. No country can defeat insecurity while tolerating traitors inside the community. These informants must be fished out, arrested and prosecuted without sympathy. A society that shields saboteurs is a society preparing its own funeral. Enough of this nonsense. These enemies within must be rooted out completely, or we are just playing games with human lives.
𝐊𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐗𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲@kogi_xcommunity

There’s real tension in the air. A victim who escaped after a long trek through the bush has narrated his experience. Disturbingly, indigenes he met in a village reached out to the bandits questioning why they let the victim escape. Some of those villagers who sit idly by the roadside are actually informants for kidnappers. @OfficialOAU and @kogistategovng need to place undercover investigators in every community they’ll be shocked by what they uncover. This guy should be with the @OfficialDSSNG @PoliceNG @HQNigerianArmy @KogiPoliceNG while they work with the information he has. #Kogixcommunity

A colleague of mine told me a story few years ago. He had 3 persons that he normally picks on his way to work, from the mainland to the island. And sometimes, brings them back when their closing hours aligned. When Tinubu became president in 2023, & fuel price skyrocketed, he then asked these persons to be assisting him with some tokens for fuel. One obliged to be assisting him. The other two suddenly disappeared, & stopped following him to the island. End.

About a year ago, I gave a contract to a very close friend of mine. He worked on it diligently for five months, and at the end, after expenses, we were paid 7.8 million Naira. Although everything went through me, this was a contract I got but I knew I wouldn't have time to do. Everything went through me, financial and all. Although I finance the project capital, I told him the entire proceed was all his since he did it all by himself, I was just there for guidance. The money was paid into my account. Before sending the money, I asked him what his plan was for it. He said he wanted to buy a car for Uber, and also buy a small piece of land to develop. All that sounded good on paper, but I knew it wasn’t very realistic, the money wasn't enough for all that. So, I shared my thoughts on what he could do with the money: pay two years’ worth of rent to his landlord, set up a raw food store for his wife, and pay his kids’ school tuition for two years. My reasoning was that these steps would at least keep him stable for two years. He pushed back, and I don't want it to seem like I was controlling his family or that I made the money and wanted to control his decisions. I sent him the money and looked away. He bought a second-hand car (in Nigeria, lol). Anyway, he’s not doing Uber anymore. I still check on him here and there. Folks when you make money you probably haven't make before, please settle your most pressing bill for as long as you can, bank on your self to get more. you can always get more.

Parents need to stop raising bullies. Yesterday, I dropped my daughter off at school and noticed she was hesitant to leave the car. Then she turned back and said softly, "Dad, please give me ₦5,000." I asked, "Is it for school?" She said, "No." "What do you need it for?" She paused for a while and said, "I’ll tell you when I get back." So I gave it to her. This morning, on our way to school again, I asked what she did with the money. She said quietly, "There’s a girl in my class everyone laughs at. Her clothes are torn, and she wears the same underwear every day. During break, they mock her until she cries. No one talks to her. So I gave her the money to buy new ones and feel clean." I asked where the girl’s parents were. She said, "She’s an orphan. She lives with her grandmother." My heart sank. When we arrived at school, I went straight to the principal. She didn’t even know what was happening. The class teacher was called in, and the issue was addressed immediately. No child deserves to be mocked because of poverty. No child deserves to feel less because life hasn’t been kind. These are the same children who grow up to become adults that bully people online, that shame the poor, that laugh at those who didn’t get the same chances they did. Having more doesn’t make you better. It only tests how kind you are to those who have less.
