I really REALLY hate how people here constantly downplay and mock vanilla struggles just because they don't like him
It's not fun it's annoying REALLY annoying
Especially when people blame HIM (the character) for the devs bad writing

@MaryCringeFest same guy who managed to match dark enchantress' power with 5 soul jams without his own btw. the sheer nerf he received against shamil and dark enchantress (pt 2) has to be studied. not that i want him to be some mary sue but the guy's capable of so much more than that ughhhjjj

No but actually. Like I talk about PV and what his moment are supposed to represent but ive never denied that the writing by devisis sucks and brings down his character. Like I can SEE what they are going for and what his character is supposed to be which is why im always arguing

@MaryCringeFest one could argue if they made his inability to fully empathise his fatal flaw rather than just kindness, it'd make more sense considering the direction they took his character in surrounding shamil, and especially since they ended up painting his kindness as lily's motivation

@MaryCringeFest yeah, puva's past gave a lot of layers of depth to his character - urgency & sacrifice (dark flour war), selflessness, moments of aggression (cookie odyssey), rebelliousness (student PV), which aren't very well illustrated currently

@lamentedvirtue looking back actually, his first stalemate with dark enchantress was both a show of the sense of urgency and protection of the common cookies he had, as well as the power he is capable of using (without souljam, even.)
his morals always had limits and im glad it's being returned

real and true. i hope we can see more of pyuba being rightfully tired about what shamil is doing to him and the world. he should have his own limit, and i really want that shown.

People don’t dislike compassionate characters Pure Vanillas compassion is just lowkey kinda poorly written imo It comes across as incredibly selective and tows the line HEAVY between compassion and ignorance

@arthroflora @whitelilywaifu @MaryCringeFest cookie odyssey was also a really good introduction to how pure vanilla lost his original vanillian residents, that one end credits scene is quite literally all that remains and besides his friends, all who remain loyal to him... combine that with losing the two he pursued...

@Pompompeaxh it links to the actual theme of crusades where witches are burned and those who spouted heresy were killed - aka judgment, a pivotal part of Salt's character. It's still crazy how everything's still perceived romantic after he burned her which was part of imposing his beliefs.

I’ve yet to get a solid answer regarding this; just ppl making it about the devs ‘intent’ when that’s not the point. Pure Vanilla wasn’t intended to come off as misogynistic in how he saw Lily either yet he does to many. So why when this applies to Silent Salt is it an issue.
