After processing my Canadian japa plans that year and hoping for good news, what I got instead was a denial. I didn’t even budge. I went straight to a bar, ordered catfish pepper soup, and two chilled Desperados just to calm myself. At that point, I told myself: “Canada won’t be the one to give me high blood pressure. It’s not by force.” 😄

I remember during my university days at Ekiti State University, I had a hostel mate whose parents had to struggle for months, sometimes starving to raise just ₦50K for his tuition. Whenever he knocked on my door, I already knew it was to ask for garri. So I would often leave a bowl of garri at my doorstep for him. At one point, he drank garri so often that he vomited it. Fast forward to now, on Sunday, he reached out to me from the United States. He is currently a Proffesor of Physics at Arkansas State University. He reflected on those difficult times, how I used to give him ₦30 for bike transport to and from lectures, how I would take him along to my girlfriend’s hostel so we could eat swallow, egusi spiced with sawa fish together, and how we would go to Ado Market to buy those ₦500 starchy shirts for both of us. He remembered how I would wake him up for compulsory night classes in the cold Ado nights, and how, when he fell sick, I used my own tuition fee to pay his medical bills, then lied to my mother just to get another one. He recounted everything… and then sent me ₦500K “to buy some green bottles.” And that’s just a fraction of what he has done for me in recent times. Never look down on anyone. Today’s struggle can become tomorrow’s success story. I think kindness is an investment that never loses value.

At this point, if demarketing and speaking up about Nigeria will bring the help and change we need, then so be it. #NigeriaIsBleeding

Some people will never be beautiful. God Himself withholds that grace from them, they stay ugly because their inner deformity cannot be fixed by fortune. They are exactly as ugly as their character - and that profound inner ugliness always finds a way to show itself on the outside. @funkeakindele this post is all yours. I don’t like talking about yeyebrities. However, I need to let it out of my stomach

Good News Nigeria! 🎉🎉🎉 Our FG has approved New Chicken Breed & 57 Improved Crop Varieties for the 2026 farming season to boost food production. After years of developing, field testing and quality checks ✔️ we have new varieties to test and a chicken breed to produce. We have a new chicken breed called The Moorbeta Chicken, developed by the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (IAR&T), Ibadan. This chicken breed had the ability to attain high body weight within a short period, good carcass yield, and tolerance to heat stress, which means they can withstand our local conditions and still produce consistently (this is beautiful 😍) On the crop side, the approved varieties are soyabean, yam, potato, onion, tomato, rice, pepper, eggplant, plantain, banana, maize, groundnut, sorghum and cowpea. These varieties are developed by our own research institutions & researchers. They are designed to do well under our local conditions. Are they GMO? No. But high quality hybrid. Farmers please don't sleep on these varieties, as you're preparing for the season you can create a test plot for some of these new varieties to test and engage. May this season give us its best! 🙏🙏

This hit me differently 💔 A mother sits in the dust of Unguwan Rukuba, clutching her only child as if her warmth could call him back to life. Her voice trembles with denial, whispering again and again, “He is not gone, he will wake up.” But the silence answers her. And in that silence is a grief no words can hold, a mother refusing to let go because facing reality would break her entirely. Meanwhile, the highest office in the land stays silent. @officialABAT Two major attacks on civilians in northern states occurred, and 12 hours later: nothing. For the mother in Unguwan Rukuba and countless others, that silence is more than political strategy - it is a reminder that their pain is invisible to the very people sworn to protect them. Where is your EMPATHY??
