KOS Site of the month – March
Northward Hill RSPB - March is the time to visit this North Kent gem! The UK’s largest heronry is bursting into life, with Grey Herons and Little Egrets busy nesting. Keep an eye on the marshes for Marsh Harriers and wintering wildfowl! #kentbirding

KOS species of the month – March
March can see Northern Wheatears arrive in Kent. This smart looking species does breed in Kent but many more pass through to breed more northerly, including the Greenland sub species on their way to Greenland and north-west Canada. #kentbirding

For those tired of winter and ☔️ weather, there is growing evidence into following week of more consistent high pressure influence from Azores High.
There also looks to be an attempt next weekend in the south. I think this all points to eventual very mild conditions in final week of Feb, say mid teens. A burst of spring,

The Red-flanked Bluetail and Pallas’s Warbler remained into this week, while a Black Guillemot flew past Dungeness and a Glaucous Gull offered close-up views in Margate. Full details on kentos.org.uk. #kentbirding #birdguides
