The Israeli rate of progress in southern Lebanon is significantly higher and rate of personnel loss is significantly lower compared to the 2024 war. In the 2024 war, the number of Israeli troops inside was substantively larger and they had better visual intelligence from drones and close-air-support, since the Air Force wasn't busy carrying out daily waves strikes 2000 km away from Israel. This points to the growing weakness of Hezbollah, and particularly of its elite Radwan Force, which is heavily engaged in the fighting. Israel assessed that during the 2024 war, it killed about half of the force, once 6000-men strong. After the war ended, Israel continued to assassinate hundreds of Radwan Force members throughout the 15 months of the one-sided ceasefire with Hezbollah. Additionally, in my view, it indicates that while the Lebanese Armed Forces failed to completely dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure south of the Litani, as stipulated in the ceasefire agreement approved by Hezbollah, the LAF did reduce the capabilities of the militia there.

The UAE just seized over $500 BILLION of Iranian assets. With all my respect (at least to Sheikh Zayed) I’d give that back immediately if I was you…
