Views on stablecoins are a kind of Rorschach ink blot test that reveals unconscious monetary priors: SC are like MMFs, casino chips, wildcat banks, ETFs, currency boards. Our own conscious monetary priors are those of the money view & that leads us to analogize SC w/ Eurodollars

Btw Robin, beyond bad policies, the free fall may accelerate. When you announce dollarization, agents run to the dollar, considering that will occur at an over depreciated XR due to lack of international reserves.

The Peso is in free fall because Argentina lives beyond its means. Look at imports (red), which are near their historical peak. Argentina needs fiscal spending cuts and a recession to fix this. How to do this in a fair way is what this election should be about. Not dollarization.
