@botsmaster82 Less in NZ! And we pay a phenomenal amount for it and for phone data. It was just mind boggling to see it so readily available up in Sapa. There is a stark difference between accessibility in NZ and protecting the environment.

@fi_glasgow Is it commercial wifi behind a paywall or private homes with wifi? I spose wireless routers are ubiquitous enough nowadays that u slam one on any old phone jack and away you go! Still relies on the Plain Old (copper) Telephone Service (POTS) network! Was there more wifi than NZ?

Vietnam has been an extraordinary experience so far. Sights, sounds & smells I’ve never experienced. One thing that has just blown me away is the whole place is loaded with tech. Everyone has a phone & there is wifi/coverage everywhere.

@botsmaster82 The thing is - there’s wifi EVERYWHERE. We also got a summon arrival...unlimited data. I imagine you top up sometime but wifi was definitely up in the villages!

@MrMCimino I remember during a particularly hard time in high school my teachers telling me ‘don’t let anyone else grind you down, be proud of who you are and what you have achieved’ Im pretty sure one even said damn the rest! I credit them for who I am today.

It seemed so odd to be way up in the terraces of Sapa completely blown away how one little device has opened up a whole world for Mi.

At the age of 35, she is learning to read using her phone. She learnt how to speak English, listening to others & using her phone. She was able to look up NZ, using her phone.
