On 13 October 2025, representatives of three member organizations of @fidh_en, the @ccl_ua, the @khpg and @hrc_memorial, participated in a panel discussion at the @Forum_2000 Conference in Prague. FIDH Vice President @avalaina and the other speakers called on the international community to take all available efforts to secure the release of Ukrainian civilians and POWs held by #Russia, to end torture in Russian detention, to arrange exchanges for Russian political prisoners who spoke out against Russia's aggression against #Ukraine, and to ensure the return of all forcibly transferred Ukrainian children.

In occupied regions, they face systemic Russification and military-style schooling meant to overwrite their identity. @fidh_en and its members demand the return of every child — and accountability for those enabling their displacement and re-education. Join us in raising international awareness of these violations. Amplify the efforts of Ukrainian and other human rights organizations such as @khpg_org, @adcmemorial and @ccl_ua who are documenting and pursuing justice for the children and their families.

Since 2022, nearly 20,000 Ukrainian children have been taken to Russia or Russian-occupied territories, according to the Ukrainian authorities. Many were separated from their families, issued new documents, and placed in institutions or adoptive homes far from everything they knew.
