Elon Musk's been breaking federal law since before the election. The fact that he's continuing w/ impunity tells you all you need to know about the GOP. Democracy is dead to them, they kneel before the oligarchy like peasants. B/c, that's exactly the way that relationship works.

If Matt keeps up his current strategy, WP Engine might end up owning Automattic when it's all said and done. From the filing for an immediate injunction against Automattic:

You would think that if you've been sued you would, you know, not do more things to provoke the party who are sueing you?

@jeffr0 The problem is, that doesn't prevent us from having to deal with the issue on the ground with our legal and security teams, who have very legitimate concerns and questions.

When I took a break from social media, someone told me that I’m 400 levels away from being able to do anything regarding WPE and WordPress. That I should stop obsessing over it. They’re right. I can’t do anything. The majority of people can’t do anything. And it’s unfortunate that many of us are being used as pawns.

@photomatt is actively trying to burn the WordPress community to the ground at this point. He has no respect whatsoever for the community that made him who he is, and clearly doesn't understand or care about the damage he's doing.

"Financially associated with WP Engine" also means having a ACF Pro license, a WPDB Migrate Pro license, an WP Offload Media license or donating to LocalWP, by the way.

Please consider my plugins hosted on wordpress.org to be abandoned. When @photomatt was asked if owning an ACF license banned users from logging into .org, he replied "Consult an attorney" See:

Since one of my customers still hosts with WP Engine, I am financially associated with WP Engine. So now, after contributing for 13 years, I am no longer allowed to contribute to WordPress. What the actual fuck.

@jeffr0 - Where... I'd go Git, even if the code isn't hosted there. - Should... I'm not sure I get the meaning of this, which means my answer in "user-facing." - Who's... I think this answer changes a lot based on community size. - How... Focus on a user first. Then contributors.

Ok hive mind, I need your help. Let's say you have a private WordPress FSE Theme that has little to no documentation. It's a relatively new product. It's not publicly distributed although it could be in the future. What would you do for documentation/training materials? Text based content with images seems like a good bet. Maybe a video that walks the person through the content in the article? Full Site Editing is such a visual thing that I think an emphasis on videos may be necessary although they could go out of date quickly. How do you approach or answer these questions? - Where to host the documentation? - Should it be external or internal facing? - Who's in charge of creating and maintaining it? - How deep should the documentation to go?

As far as the alcohol goes. I’m successfully not drinking every night. Unfortunately, that’s progress for me. Now to get in the habit of going 2 days, 3 days, and eventually a week. If I can do a week, I can do a month and the rest will be history. I’ll be back in control.
