I'm talking about the responsibility to protect yourself because in web3, nobody is coming to save you if you're careless. There are risks in this space that a lot of newbies don't even know exist. And in this space, ignorance can cost you everything. •The first risk is Phishing Sites: Phishing sites imitate real platforms to steal your wallet access or trick you into approving transactions you don't understand. They build a website that looks exactly like a real project...same logo, same colors, same layout. You connect your wallet and that's it. Gone. In law, this is called impersonation. In web3, it happens every day. How to protect yourself: Before connecting your wallet to any site, verify the URL carefully. You can also use tools like Scam Sniffer or Pocket Universe. They flag known phishing sites before you interact with them. • Rug pull and fake projects: I'll be honest...I heard "rug pull" twice before writing this and never checked the meaning. I just assumed it was another earning method. Turns out the only person earning from it is the scammer. In a rug pull, developers create a project, attract funds and attention then abandon their users, drain the liquidity and disappear, leaving users with worthless tokens. How to spot it early: → Anonymous team with no verifiable history → Fake or unverified partnerships → No audit from a reputable firm → Pressure to invest quickly You can also verify a project's domain ownership using WHOIS Lookup tools. If the domain was registered last week and they're claiming to be a 2-year-old project, that's your sign to run.

the biggest problem with marketing in our industry today is people’s flawed foundational orientation and understanding of what marketing truly is a lotta folks need to swallow their pride and go back to the basics, for goodness’ sake it’s not gonna kill anyone if they can just relearn the fundamentals and embrace the true nature of this work we can do better way better!
