@FeministRoar Thanks for this response. (-: It’s interesting to me, I’ve had many normal conversations with people who are vehemently anti-‘terf’ elsewhere who have still managed to engage in good faith. I have no idea why they’d spend hours responding to me if they were never interested.

@speakoutsister Then I guess I’ve tried with you in a way you’d never considered trying with me. Oh well, I can at least feel good about having given it a go and not just having decided to waste my own time, or whatever it is that compels you to respond as you do.

Saying no one is attracted to a sex, they're attracted to people includes heterosexual people actually, as well as bi people obvs. It's pretty homophobic to think lesbians are attracted to everyone with a vulva actually. Because that's what *same sex attraction'" means
Fio ♀@figcountry

@speakoutsister Being attracted to people who always happen to be a particular sex is what same-sex attraction is. But fine, you have revealed yourself to be a classic homophobe. An interesting hill to die on.

how do we work towards deconditioning young girls from romance and marriage... little girls aspiring for good husbands and perfect marriages makes me feel a bit out of sorts with existence

This was fun though. Thank you for the likes. It makes me happy there’s so many people who are still with us gay people in spite of the clever sleight of hand being played to try and reframe us as an issue once again. 🩵

This is more than I’ve bothered to talk about gender identity stuff in ages... I forget it’s what Twitter spaces are fairly obsessed with. I always preferred the breadth of discussion you’d get elsewhere tbh.

@GyllKing Also, please… it’s Fio. Not Flo. I ignored it a few times but it’s been quite a lot now.

@speakoutsister @buckland_bev It’s not on this website. But if you search ‘OSA radfem’ on here or multiple other platforms you’ll see it’s fairly common vernacular amongst radical feminists online anyway.

Stop saying "same sex attraction'". No one is attracted to a sex. They are attracted to people, who may be of a particular sex..Not genitals and chromosomes.

@speakoutsister What would it take for you to engage in good faith? Or is this kind of engagement fun for you? If you’re not willing to engage honestly, I don’t see why you’d want to waste your own time, even if you’d be fine wasting mine.

Yes, literally no one has ever been so distressed by societal homophobia they haven't taken extreme steps to try to change their sexuality, or simply hidden it. /Extreme sarcasm. No one is saying trans people are "born in the wrong body"
Fio ♀@figcountry

@GyllKing @ChantAngle64 @janeclarejones With same-sex attraction, the only phenomenon that exists is same-sex attraction. There’s no extra steps. With distress at your sexed body, the phenomenon we are seeing is the distress. It’s an extra step to say it’s proof of being born in the wrong body.

@speakoutsister we wouldn’t tend to talk about lesbianism in other primates, but homosexual behaviour, for example. The English language is beautiful and versatile. You will survive it.

@speakoutsister Good for you. I chose to place emphasis on the phenomenon of same-sex attraction rather than other language because I was including multiple groups and also because what I was emphasising was the phenomenon itself. In academia this is rather typical;

@speakoutsister name-calling nor logical fallacies. They only demean you, because others reading them, as was proved earlier today, can interpret what I am saying perfectly and honestly. And they know that you can too, though you choose to pretend otherwise.

@speakoutsister You know, because you’ve checked my profile and now follow me, that I am a lesbian, not a homophobe. There is still time for you to become someone who engages honestly with political opponents, debating ideas themselves and not resorting to petty
