Consistent with its historic commitment to a just and lasting peace in the Middle East, I have decided that France will recognize the State of Palestine.
I will make this solemn announcement before the United Nations General Assembly this coming September.
The urgent priority today is to end the war in Gaza and to bring relief to the civilian population.
Peace is possible.
We need an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and massive humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza. We must also ensure the demilitarization of Hamas, secure and rebuild Gaza. And finally, we must build the State of Palestine, guarantee its viability, and ensure that by accepting its demilitarization and fully recognizing Israel, it contributes to the security of all in the region.
There is no alternative.
The French people want peace in the Middle East. It is our responsibility — as French citizens, alongside Israelis, Palestinians, and our European and international partners — to prove that peace is possible.
In light of the commitments made to me by the President of the Palestinian Authority, I have written to him to express my determination to move forward.
Trust, clarity, and resolve.
We will achieve peace.

@sentdefender It’s not Netanyahu’s first rodeo, he’s not going to sit by and let the radical terrorist spawn a new nest next door.

Following recent strikes by Israel against Syria, against the wishes of U.S. President Trump, the White House is beginning to believe that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is out of control. “Bibi acted like a madman. He bombs everything all the time,” one White House official told Axios, “This could undermine what Trump is trying to do.”
Another U.S. official also pointed to the shelling of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Gaza City this week, which resulted in several deaths and caused an international uproar, leading President Trump to call Netanyahu and demand an explanation. “The feeling is that every day there is something new. What the fuck?”
A third U.S. official said there's growing skepticism inside the Trump administration about Netanyahu — a sense that his trigger finger is too itchy and he's too disruptive. “Netanyahu is sometimes like a child who just won't behave.”
On Tuesday, the Israeli Air Force bombed a convoy of tanks and other armored vehicles with the Syrian Army that were enroute to the city of Suwayda to intervene in violent clashes between Druze militias and armed Bedouin tribesmen. Israel claimed the convoy crossed into a “demilitarized zone” in Southern Syria, and that the Syrian military was participating in attacks on the Druze minority, which has been denied by Damascus. U.S. Special Envoy to Syria, Tom Barrack, asked his Israeli counterparts on Tuesday to stand down to allow for a diplomatic resolution, and the Israelis committed to do so, according to a U.S. official. Instead, after a pause, Israel escalated strikes, bombing both the Ministry of Defense and Presidential Palace in Damascus.
“The bombing in Syria caught the president and the White House by surprise. The president doesn't like turning on the television and seeing bombs dropped in a country he is seeking peace in and made a monumental announcement to help rebuild,” a U.S. official told Axios.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio then directly told Netanyahu and his team to stop on Wednesday, with Netanyahu agreeing to do so in return for the Syrian military withdrawing from Suwayda. But by then countries including Turkey and Saudi Arabia had conveyed angry messages to the Trump administration about Israel's actions, and several senior U.S. officials, specifically envoys Steve Witkoff and Tom Barrack complained directly to Trump about Netanyahu.
