Ibn Rajab رحمه الله said: "The person who fears Allāh is not the one who sheds tears and cries, but rather, the person who truly fears Allāh is the one who abandons what he desires of the ḥarām when he has the ability to do it." [Majmūʿ al-Rasā'il, 1/163]

Ibn al-Qayyim: “The death of the heart is caused by the lack of reckoning oneself and following one’s desire” [Lal-ighaathah vol.1,p.157]

Imām Hamood at-Tuwayjaree said: “Books, in my opinion are better than the palaces of kings.” [المجموع في ترجمته رحمه الله 1/395]

Kābul falls down to Tālibān today. Allāh knows best, most likely turmoils will increase more now. Tālibān is a corrupt Deobandi group with extremism mixed with it. No khair can be expected from any group who is far from the Aqīdah and Manhaj of Salaf.

It is true that what is yours will eventually be yours, but that should never negate you from working towards it. Most of our destiny is in accordance to our level of ambition. A person who cannot climb will never be pushed to, and a person who can will to access his blessings.
