I’ve tried to use this exact example. Like what would you not do for your child? 🤯 Some of them are crossing the border from gang infested areas - where their mayors and their police officers are being shot to death. So yes, I’m taking my kid past that imaginary line.

This is fundamentally how you start organizing if you attach political development to these things

@ben_kushigian @Komaniecki_R This Rogan example shows they aren't asking the questions to actually Be Curious bc if they were, they would find a wealth of info if they even tried to look outside solely Rogan as a source. They're asking so they can feel smart, rather than learn.

People seem to be converging around the idea that to stave off fascism we must treat the concerns of single white men who feel alienated by black video game characters with the same urgency that we treat the concerns of parents of kids murdered at school, or women getting sterilized rather than risking a potentially lethal pregnancy While that may well be true, and the next iteration of Democrats may roll out all sorts of initiatives aimed at disaffected young men who can’t get a girlfriend, that doesn’t mean that I personally can’t think it’s fucking pathetic

@ben_kushigian @Komaniecki_R Why do they want to be centered/coddled with people they do not try to understand? That sounds like they do not want to reflect on their internal white/patriarchal supremacy. And if someone does not want to do the work, why do we owe them that attention?

@ben_kushigian @Komaniecki_R I go back to my original q for them again. Why do they think it's Unfair for people to get benefits that they would also be entitled to? Why do they not want to take the time to learn to engage so they can speak "more freely"? It's a skill you can learn.
