It is with great sadness that we share the sudden passing of a member of @PeelPolice.
Constable Prasanth Indralingam, assigned to 22 Division B Platoon, passed away on Thursday, March 19 due to a medical emergency.
Constable Indralingam joined Peel Regional Police two and a half years ago. At just 30 years old, he was a young, hardworking, and dedicated officer who was taken from us far too soon.
This is a profound loss for his wife, loved ones, colleagues and community.

Police get into shootout with man in Erin Mills, suspect with multiple guns killed, officer’s hat shot. At around 12am-1am this morning, PRP received a domestic call from the spouse of the suspect, who advised that the suspect may be armed with a firearm. When police located the suspect and cornered him on Fifth Line, there was an exchange of gunfire between the suspect and 4 officers. The suspect was shot and killed. During the shootout, a bullet pierced through an officer's hat. Luckily, no police officers were injured. The incident took place a short drive away from Peel Police's 11 Division. Officers responded to an armed person call in the area of Simcoe St S and Wentworth St E in Oshawa. During the interaction, an officer and the suspect were shot. The officer has been transported to a Toronto area trauma centre in critical but stable condition. The suspect was transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. S/Sgt. McCabe will be providing an update at the scene. Time and location will be provided shortly.
