🚨 The Colorado Court of Appeals confirms what we’ve said for years: Mesa County District Court Judge Matthew Barrett illegally persecuted Tina Peters for her First Amendment-protected political views. 9 years in prison. For a 69-year-old woman. Because Barrett didn’t like her political views. Barrett is a garbage human being. He shouldn’t be on the bench. He should be in prison. coloradojudicial.gov/system/files/o…

@SherryPrea58356 @IrvCarr @mrddmia Then we agree. She broke the law, the sentence may be excessive, and the court addressed it today. That’s all I ever said.

@finnmaloy @IrvCarr @mrddmia That was my argument the entire time. They let violent criminals go yet sentence a first time white collar crime to 9 years is pure fascist political bull shit

@SherryPrea58356 @IrvCarr @mrddmia Now you’re making a sentencing argument, not a conviction argument. That’s fine — the appeals court agreed today and sent it back for resentencing. But that’s not what Mike Davis claimed. He said she was innocent. She’s not.

@finnmaloy @IrvCarr @mrddmia She was convicted of fraud!!!! The last person that was convicted of felony election fraud in the state was sentenced to 3 years not 9. You are excusing unjust sentencing

@SherryPrea58356 @IrvCarr @mrddmia Not the same crime. Lewis forged letters in an HR dispute. Peters breached secured election equipment and the data ended up online via Mike Lindell. Different crime, different scale.

@green260146 @mrddmia The Appeals Court upheld her conviction 3-0. Maybe read the ruling before citing it.

@finnmaloy @mrddmia The Appeals Court disagrees with you. Are they not part of the judicial system?

@BarbaraDForbes @mrddmia That story has been investigated and debunked. She let an unauthorized person copy the voting system hard drive including passwords which ended up posted online by Mike Lindell. No evidence of changed results was ever found. jury heard all of this for weeks and convicted her

My understanding is the SOS Griswold wanted to do a software update during the 2020 election. Tina thought that was on odd time to do an update and did a backup of the current election results. After the software update the results were much different than the backed up election results.

@SPCapybara @mrddmia Honey, I’ve been right about everything in this thread. Maybe politics isn’t too complicated for me after all.

@SherryPrea58356 @mrddmia Nobody’s in prison for free speech. She’s in prison for tampering with election equipment. The appeals court agreed the judge factored her speech into the sentence length — not the conviction. Those are two very different things. Conviction upheld. 4 felonies. Today.

@finnmaloy @mrddmia Then sentence her for that law, not persecute for free speech which is a civil rights violation Are you advocating to put people in prison for free speech? You’re not a liberal then but an illiberal

@MatthewSch90143 @mrddmia Sure. When a Vietnam-era official tampers with federal equipment to prove a conspiracy, gets convicted by a jury, and has it upheld by an appeals court, I’ll be right here

@lawless_brett1 @mrddmia The sentencing question is legitimate — even the appeals court agreed today and ordered resentencing. But that’s a different argument than what Mike Davis made. The conviction stands. 4 felonies. Jury verdict. Upheld 3-0. She broke the law is still correct.

@finnmaloy @mrddmia I think it’s the disproportionately harsh and cruel punishment for a US citizen her age and with her health issues—that part. Meanwhile, hardened criminals, who pose an immediate danger are routinely released on bail or given light sentences…

@BarbaraDForbes @mrddmia Four felonies. Tampering with election equipment. Allowing unauthorized access to secured voting systems. Convicted by a jury. Upheld today 3-0 by the appeals court. Google is free.

@finnmaloy @mrddmia Bitch the law is only applicable to political opponents in your books not to hardcore criminals which you will pardon and release back to streets. Now fuck off

@finnmaloy @mrddmia You should probably delete this. Your life will be much more peaceful. Because this is the kind of mindless lib drivel that makes people ratio you into oblivion.
