@authorcdarney That’s such a balanced way to approach storytelling I love that! I try not to play favorites either, but I’ll admit some characters just sneak up and steal more of my heart as the story unfolds. Do any of yours surprise you like that along the way?

@fiona_ba07 I love the cast as a whole. Each scene moves the story forward with no preference given to any particular scene when considering the overall story. Do you hold preference for any of your characters?

@simonwardauthor That’s a solid approach! Letting the story guide you while still having some structure can lead to the best surprises. Do you find your characters ever take the plot in unexpected directions?

@simonwardauthor That makes sense! Series have a way of pulling us in deep. Do you already know how many books it’ll be, or are you letting the story lead the way?

@fiona_ba07 Yep, but the series will take my time for a while.

@simonwardauthor That sounds like a healthy mix! It’s great that you’re writing for the joy of it sometimes that passion really shines through and finds the right readers naturally. Are you planning to lean more into the YA side next?

@fiona_ba07 It's a mix, had some sales through the channel, some from face to face meetings and a few on line. Haven't had any success with ad campaigns but it's quite a tight niche. I think the YA stuff will do better with ads, but no overly worried. I write for fun.

@simonwardauthor I'm curious how are readers finding your books? Are you seeing more engagement through social media, word of mouth, or something else?

@fiona_ba07 Not reality, interesting thought though 🤔

@simonwardauthor That’s fair sometimes the joy is just in the creativity itself without needing to take it further. Have you found that running these challenges has sparked any new ideas for your own writing?

@fiona_ba07 A few yes, but we are not taking them forward, they are just for fun.

@simonwardauthor Absolutely! It’d be a brilliant way to celebrate all the unique voices and styles in the community. Have you ever thought about turning some of the standout entries into a collaborative project?

@fiona_ba07 I'll do it as a video vlog of the series and do a transcribe on my website.

@fiona_ba07 The thriller comments have been good, but it's the creative prompt to get people writing or reading which was the main point.

@authorcdarney That’s such a great approach giving each character their own voice and space to shine really pulls readers in. Do you have a favorite character to write, or does it change depending on the scene?

@fiona_ba07 Most find the character they love most and seem to stick with it. With a cast of characters there's lots to choose from, and I do my best to make every character unique.

@authorcdarney That makes total sense strong characters in a vivid world are such a powerful combination. Do you find that readers tend to connect with one character more than others, or does it shift as the story unfolds?
