@joyabraham768 Reading it reminded me how every family has myths, secrets, and stories worth sharing. Glad Richard shared his.

Many historical novels show us the past through imagined lives. This book does it through a real journey across 25,000 miles of America. Blending memoir + history, it asks: Why is our nation so divided? 📖

@authorcdarney That’s such a balanced way to approach storytelling I love that! I try not to play favorites either, but I’ll admit some characters just sneak up and steal more of my heart as the story unfolds. Do any of yours surprise you like that along the way?
English

@fiona_ba07 I love the cast as a whole. Each scene moves the story forward with no preference given to any particular scene when considering the overall story. Do you hold preference for any of your characters?

@simonwardauthor That’s a solid approach! Letting the story guide you while still having some structure can lead to the best surprises. Do you find your characters ever take the plot in unexpected directions?
English

@fiona_ba07 Thanks for following. Have followed back. Did you check out my writing, Time to Click, a fast paced psychological thriller😉 is a good start.
My YT interviews share superb advice👍
We have also been running fun writing challenges, have a go and get a shout out.
English

@simonwardauthor That makes sense! Series have a way of pulling us in deep. Do you already know how many books it’ll be, or are you letting the story lead the way?
English

@fiona_ba07 Yep, but the series will take my time for a while.
English

@simonwardauthor That sounds like a healthy mix! It’s great that you’re writing for the joy of it sometimes that passion really shines through and finds the right readers naturally. Are you planning to lean more into the YA side next?
English

@fiona_ba07 It's a mix, had some sales through the channel, some from face to face meetings and a few on line.
Haven't had any success with ad campaigns but it's quite a tight niche.
I think the YA stuff will do better with ads, but no overly worried. I write for fun.
English

@simonwardauthor I'm curious how are readers finding your books? Are you seeing more engagement through social media, word of mouth, or something else?
English

@simonwardauthor That’s fair sometimes the joy is just in the creativity itself without needing to take it further. Have you found that running these challenges has sparked any new ideas for your own writing?
English

@fiona_ba07 A few yes, but we are not taking them forward, they are just for fun.
English

@simonwardauthor Absolutely! It’d be a brilliant way to celebrate all the unique voices and styles in the community. Have you ever thought about turning some of the standout entries into a collaborative project?
English

@fiona_ba07 I'll do it as a video vlog of the series and do a transcribe on my website.
English

@simonwardauthor That makes total sense those open-ended creative prompts can really unlock some unexpected ideas! Have any of the responses ever taken the story in a direction you didn’t anticipate?
English

@fiona_ba07 The thriller comments have been good, but it's the creative prompt to get people writing or reading which was the main point.
English

@authorcdarney That’s such a great approach giving each character their own voice and space to shine really pulls readers in. Do you have a favorite character to write, or does it change depending on the scene?
English

@fiona_ba07 Most find the character they love most and seem to stick with it. With a cast of characters there's lots to choose from, and I do my best to make every character unique.
English

@ck_trueblood @HeatherCashman @StormLiterary That’s honestly the best kind of story genesis chaotic, curious, and totally creative! 😂 Did any of those tropes take on a life of their own in ways you didn’t expect once you started writing?
English

@fiona_ba07 @HeatherCashman @StormLiterary I just couldn’t stop wondering what would happen if I stuffed all the Regency tropes I love into a dark box, and shook it up. Haha. This manuscript came out!

@HeatherCashman @StormLiterary
This is Not Your Mother’s Jane Austen! All your favorite Regency tropes plus time travel, enemies-to-lovers, and parasol shivs. Quite scandalous indeed!

English

@authorcdarney That makes total sense strong characters in a vivid world are such a powerful combination. Do you find that readers tend to connect with one character more than others, or does it shift as the story unfolds?
English

@FoxMaskedChild No worries at all! I’m loving the buildup so far, and now I’m even more excited to dive into Chapter 8. I’ll definitely be paying close attention can’t wait to see how our theories line up with where you’re taking the story!
English

@fiona_ba07 Hello, sorry for the late reply - currently, I'm excited for you guys to get to Chapter 8. There will be action but also the story will pick up a bit more, I'm interested to see you - the readers, theories on where the story is going. Thank you for enjoying PokeDots 2.
