For all our new Japanese friends I have a question. So in the US we are taught that the turning point in the pacific (mildly debated) is the battle of midway. Are you taught the same thing? Or is it more like “that is when we knew we may have made a mistake”. Just curious.

@pureMetatron I'm atheist (but not the reddit kind), and I fully believe one explanation for everything *could* be that what we know through science is just us figuring out how exactly God created the world, at least some of it probably revealed by Him to the great scientists.

Science and religion can absolutely go hand in hand. You can have faith and support science.
