Finishing a book on Audible means you listened to a book, you didn't read it

People are so confused about this tweet, so let me elaborate. Yes, AI will eventually create art that is as good or even better than humans. But, humans will not care for it, beside an initial curiosity, because art is not about art. It’s about the humans who created it and their stories. Art it’s an exploration of human limits. Humans are fundamentally not interested in what other species do, think or feel. How many people watch AI play chess?

My super strong parenting opinion is that while the kids are awake, you come last. No spending all of Saturday golfing. That’s family time. 6 am tee time only, maybe. Wanna go to the gym? Go after the kids go to bed, or wake up at 5. In a few short years, they’ll be out of the house and you’ll have all the time in the world for your own stuff. It’s okay to come last for a while.

You know what really bugs me these days? We can't own anything. Everything is a subscription service, like literally everything. You can't buy Microsoft Office, you have to purchase a subscription for a year. You literally have to pay for everything FOREVER. Isn't anyone else bothered by this?

Sorry to be serious on here but guys - nothing like this is free. Every decision matters. Trying to get away with seemingly little things like this is how one slowly erodes their soul. It may feel good to ‘get one over’ on someone in the moment, but there is always a consequence. It may not be immediate. It may not be direct. But you always pay a price. You are the aggregation of your choices & actions. Brick by brick, every $40 you steal builds a worse version of you. And you’re the one who has to live with it.

Here’s a classic example of why we are the way we are: When I was in my 20s, I told my Dad that I didn’t feel like my boss appreciated me. He said: “Every two weeks he sends you a thank you note signed in the lower-right corner. As long as those keep coming, he likes you. If you want a hug, see your mother.” Yeah. My Dad was epic. I miss him every day.
