everything in Indonesia so far has been beautiful except for the fact that people who aren't PWD's, pregnant, and old are taking the elevators. like wdym you're taking the elevator when your legs are working so fine??? especially the young people?? take the escalator???

@fishifiedfish Indonesians genuinely think walking is a chore. If you see anyone walking on the sidewalk be aware that 90% of the time they only do it to exercise. Insane

@chuwy_1011 wtf 😭 i was literally shocked cause in PH malls near me, i rarely see someone use the elevator, and sometimes we would even check if we're allowed to use it and the moment we see prioritize PWD's, pregnant and old we ended up not using it at all

@fishifiedfish Well the moment you see how crowded the streets are with motorbikes that's when you know how lazy the people are. Here they even pity someone who is walking daily because they assume people who walk everyday cannot afford motorbikes.

@cuddlecakepop like it was literally a hard and shocking experience, we had to wait minutes cause these normal people who doesn't care about PWD's are rushing to go inside the elevator, we ended up taking the escalator and had someone carry the wheelchair.

@fishifiedfish As an Indonesian... I also find this ridiculous 😭 there's one thing Indonesians hate, and that's walking. Especially in the city that I live in... people don't walk around that much because we don't have pavements (we do but they grow trees on them wtf)

@mi_tektek uhuh i saw a lot of people rushing in the elevators today even tho there were so many old people in queue with their wheelchairs too but apparently these people who seemed fine to me rushed inside and we ended up waiting and had someone carry the wheelchair in the escalator!

This is highly nuanced (?) topic because there are also people with unseen disabilities. They might look "young and healthy" but we don't know their disability. And we know Indonesia never sided with pejalan kaki, almost everything is built not for the comfort of pejalan kaki—

@kekasihkartein it literally says prioritize "PWD, pregnant and old people", also idk what's the deal with a lot of you that you cannot prioritize letting people with disabilities to go first that you tend to rush in the elevator so much, we had to wait minutes and ended up taking escalator!

me and my gf had a hard time going from floor to floor because the elevator is packed with people who aren't even part of the group that should take it. she's on a wheelchair btw and its even us who had to adjust to these people? istg
