It’s perfectly normal and has nothing to do with “being an egg” to wonder, out of curiosity, what you would look like if you transitioned.

@socoolrobyna i feel like i have this dance till u drop thing too but i use the conversations to lull myself to sleep kinda. i also don’t have adhd so it’s certainly on a different level but it’s an interesting similarity!

Trying to explain to ppl without ADHD why I can't sleep until I exhaust my brain is hell how can you explain that you do not have control over your thoughts to them, that there's just an endless stream of noise and conversations keeping you up for hours??

its not like the capital owners don't take on a financial risk. It's just that they tend to make gains that far outweigh the initial risk they put in. This kind of system doesn't incentivize risk, but rather incentivizes minimizing risk and maximizing returns (often over the short term), especially in cases where the returns significantly outweigh the risk on average.

In many cases, the capital owner does not invent the machine or production process (penguin random house didn't invent the printing press, appliance manufacturers didn't invent PCB manufacture). It is merely buying machines that already exist and putting them to work. Moreoever, capital isn't accrued only through passed labour (infact, id wager it rarely is). It is instead often accrued through previous investment's return. No (or little) labour was done to create the product that created the initial return to then fund this investment.

moreover, the reward for this persons risk is incongruent with the actual risk. maybe the cost of the machine is 1% of this persons net worth, but given enough time, the financial upside could be theoretically infinite. in fact, this model rewards taking as small a risk as possible with the largest value extraction over time
