@appleshk @QandA It’s much easier than it should be. We had no recourse, totally up to the principal. Harder now in Victoria since the 2017 @VicOmbudsman report into expulsion though, thank goodness!

@fishtish @QandA Heartbreaking for you and your family. But in my experience, it is an extreme measure to expel primary kids. Almost impossible to bring about. #QandA

@Hannahmayfiel16 @QandA Initially, he ran away from school at five. Got a three day suspension. He has behaved with frustration to teachers, but he was also locked in a cupboard for hours by a principal, so it’s a complicated situation.

@QandA The risks can be reduced and mitigated when the right funding and support is put in place. We are a positive example of turning it around. #qanda

@QandA Yes and yes. My son was expelled at 6, then nearly again at 9. More than 100 suspensions. Missed almost six years of classroom teaching. Now year 7 and trying to catch up and start from scratch. It has almost destroyed us. #qanda

Discrimination also exists for kids with mental health and trauma issues. Teachers might be caring, but often not for kids who need it most. #qanda
