@fitzjimi @UKLabour That’s what I was saying! You’ve misunderstood me. The country voted for a Starmer led government, not a Burnham led one.I personally think Starmer was awful, for many reasons. But Burnham will be no better imo, just slightly less Tory than Starmer. So more of the same.

It didn’t take the BBC long to start the let’s belittle Burnham campaign, now that operation smear Starmer has been such a success. Someone needs to tell the BBC barons that we elect the Government not them. Since when was knocking Britain part of the BBC charter ?

@philascough You cannot play your best when you are expecting to get clattered in every tackle or before or after every pass. I suspect that if we had started to dish it out the cards would have come flying out in short order.

@fitzjimi And that was a big factor in England’s second half decline.

Football the winner England France game last night. Two teams intent on scoring. Englands game with Argentina was back to old school where brutal tactics were the norm. So why with VAR are Argentina allowed to do it ? In 1966 Rattin the Argentina captain was sent off for less.

@The_A_Designer It was old school football. The sort VAR was introduced sort out. To get away with doing now the officials had to be involved.

@n56_smith Nic I have played golf for years & 99.999 % of club golfers & all the pros know what they can and cannot do. He knew he was out of order & trying to style it out !

@fitzjimi If that’s your opinion fair enough however if that was the case at least another 15 players could have been disqualified 🤔

I watched the footage of Bryson on the 5th at Birkdale, he was lucky he wasn’t disqualified.

@DeborahDuffin No they didn’t, we voted for a Starmer led @UKLabour party. Keir Starmer did a good job but politics is politics and the PLP believe that he has lost the doorstep. I want a UK that works for PLM who work for a living. I hope Burnham can do the job 👍

@fitzjimi Yes that's true but, but he was not elected as PM, he was just parachuted in, with no other candidates. The country did not vote for him.

@philascough Cheers Phil, no I didn’t but Rattin was a great player & back then everyone played like that, Norman Hunter bites your legs. But in 66 the German ref Kreitlein had the balls to send him off. The ref in Englands semi allowed Argentina players to knock lumps off, no cards or VAR?

@fitzjimi Did you see that Rattin died last week? Sadly his playing style lives on.

@Bbmorg I didn’t watch all the game, other commitments but Rugby is far better run by the referee & back up team than football. So as a matter of fact is every other modern sport. Just my opinion but FIFA didn’t want VAR because they want decide who can win & who can’t.

England Rugby Union team beat Argentina at home last night. Obviously Argentina players were aggressive towards the Ref at the final whistle.

The two best goals I have ever seen for England were Jimmy Greaves against Italy way back when and Jude Bellinghams against France last night. Jude, Jimmy Greaves would have been proud of that one.

Now that @realDonaldTrump has become the world’s leading expert on football ⚽️ Someone needs to be very careful telling him about penalty shootouts ! He probably thinks it should involve armed thugs in masks shooting dead anyone who disagrees with him.
