Might be a silly comparison but I gladly pay Fizzi $5 each month to play Ranked Slippi (which is, at the end of the day, a very robust and complex melee mod) My question - which mods should and shouldn’t be paywalled? Is it bc of Balatro IP? Or bc it’s solely aesthetic?

@HemboyFooters @ABCtotheD_ @Klug91 @LiquidHbox That's not exactly a sustainable proposition when you're on the hook for $4000 / month worth of server costs. I've managed to drop server costs to roughly $2000 / month recently but regardless the sentiment stands.

I've gotten a ton of donations especially early on and I appreciate everyone that did. That said, you'll get donations from roughly 1% of users (if you're lucky). And they will donate once and never again.

@Fizzi36 worst of all is you can select frozen stadium for doubles in the overlay, but itll remain defrosted. even if all 4 players have it set to frozen using above method (which does carry over to doubles overlay). cant play australian legal ruleset online doubles tournaments anymore

if you want slippi direct session to randomise to legal (australian) stages youll need to manually swap to frozen stadium when its your time to select. the toggle remains until you close slippi. if the direct session starts on stadium it uses player 1s toggle (default thawed)🤷

@ANG3Lstreams That should have only been a problem on the first day. It was fixed yesterday morning.

Slippi version 3.5.0 is out. ✅ Stadium can now be unfrozen. Unfrozen is now the default in Ranked / Unranked ✅ You rank will now display on the Ranked CSS and animate with changes. Opponent's rank is visible in the setup screen. Both can be disabled. github.com/project-slippi…

There appears to be a bug with rank display for grandmaster players showing them in masters. I will look into it.

So the reason for this was that the local player's rank would always show on the left, even if they were actually on the right. So whenever you were on the right side, the ranks would appear swapped. There's a fix for this coming out soon.

Seems like there might be a bug with your rank showing incorrectly on the game setup screen too? Anyone else experience this? Might be a tough one to debug if it only happens some of the time but I'll try to figure it out.

@Fizzi36 @beaverboy2002 Basically your rank always shows up on the left side of stage striking menu but sometimes you appear on the right side (50/50 chance to be reversed)

@brubesque @riennezelda if you only disable one of them, it might not work atm because of a bug that should be fixed tomorrow. if you disable both though it should work fine.

in case you don't want to see your or your opponents rank, you can disable it as an option in slippi config!

can we have a toggle to hide ranks? i was really enjoying just vibing with more serious matches without sweating a number that doesnt matter

@SSBM_SirTaco The local player rank is always on the left currently. Anyway I have a fix probably won’t release it until tomorrow though

@Fizzi36 I think the higher rank gets put on the left side and the lower rank on the right doesn't matter who's name it is on the left side they will always have the higher rank symbol 3/3 times I queued this happened (sadly I only took 2 screenshots but I am master)

@MedzSSBM It's probably half the time lol. I have a fix at this point, just gotta fix some more things before I deploy it. Thanks!

@Fizzi36 the other guy was grandmaster and i was master. seems like the rank swap happens 1/4 times.

@gwm420 Yeah thanks. It looks like the rank on the left is always the local player's rank, despite the fact that the names are not always that way. Working on a fix.

@Fizzi36 Yeah happened to me on an alt, I'm diamond and my opponent was plat, but in the stage select it was reversed.
