@AJamesMcCarthy Amazing imaging - what equipment do you use?

I spent 2 hours yesterday capturing a turbulent portion of the sun’s chromosphere. This launched off an X-class flare and a CME. Good thing it wasn’t pointed at us! I sped up the video so you can see how drastically it changed as the sun rotated.

ME-Very Cloudy but got some images with DSLR and 8" SCT telescope w/filter. Peak about 74%. Pretty sunrise too. Had a bunch of people show up as well-fun! #NASASolarWeek

Odd sunspot group was detected 5/25/21-horseshoe shape but magnetic field was N/S not E/W. This image shows it on 5/26 in full disk and close-up B&W H-a and 'white light' sunspots. More detail at Spaceweather archive for 5/25. #NASASolarWeek
